This symposium is designed to promote an activated environment for the innovative development in dynamics and control science and technology and to provide a significant momentum through which we can establish a strong springboard for contributing to the world's progress in the subject scientific field through broad exchange of their up-to-date information among colleagues of the member countries. The scientific program will consist of keynote and invited lectures by world-known scholars and specialists covering whole area of the subject control science beside a several hundred of contributed paper presenta- tions by enthusiastic scientists. The Organizing Committee is planning a colourful social programs in this semi-tropical fantasy island which is full of exotic islanders' life and culture which is quite unique even among Korean citizens. I hope you would not miss this opportunity to enhance your knowledge at the most valuable symposium and experience the culture of Cheju Island as well. En Sup Yoon Chair National Organizing Committee of DYCOPS'6 Scope The theme of the DYCOPS-6 Symposium is Bridging Science with Engineering. The meeting will focus on the examination of new methodologies and challenging applications in the following nine important areas of dynamics and control of process systems: - Emerging New Approaches to Dynamics and Control - Large-Scale Systems - Industrial-Scale Applications - Interaction Between Design and Control - Model-Based Approaches to Process Estimation and Control - Biochemical and Materials Processing System Modeling and Control - Modeling and Analysis of Complex Dynamics - Batch Process Modeling and Control - Integration between Scheduling and Control Submission Milestones Submission of draft papers ..................... Sep 15, 2000 Acceptance notification to authors ............. Jan 15, 2001 Submission of papers in camera-ready form ...... Mar 1, 2001 The submission of papers related to one or several of the focus areas will be welcome. Papers highlighting industrial experiences and/or comparisons between theory and experiments are of particular interest. Papers dealing with large-scale process systems and the integration of Process Design and Control will be given special attention. The paper submission will be made *exclusively* though the conferece homepage: http://atom.ecn.purdue.edu/~dycops6/ Please note the following: 1. The user will first register in the website (with their e-mail address as username). A confirmation e-mail will be sent, together with a login password. 2. Paper uploading to the website can be effected at this point. Please note, however, that papers will be accepted only in PDF or MSWord formats. 3. The website will be ready to accept papers starting August 1.
