Research is concerned with biological processes, giving special attention to downstream processing and the development of relevant processes. Teaching focuses on specialised courses in bioprocessing at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. Candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of process engineering / bioprocesses as well as a proven track record of research experience in academia and the industry. Furthermore, candidates must be committed to teaching at all levels and are expected to co-operate closely with other departments at ETHZ, especially with the Departments of Biology, Applied Biosciences and Chemistry, as well as with other universities and the industry. The post of an assistant professor has been established to promote the career of young scientists. It is available for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years.
