The models were developed by Dr. Fouad Teymour in his Ph.D. thesis and subsequent research journal articles. The code, description, and references for the reactor are avialabe at http://www.chee.iit.edu/~control or http://www.chee.iit.edu/~jdecicco Dr. Teymour and Dr. Harmon Ray have studied the dynamics of these reactors in some detail through bifurcation anlysis. Conditions are given in their journal articles of several interesting phenomenon, including periodic limit points, isoloas, and chaos. Dr. Teymour also investigated input flowrate scheduling for the semi-batch reactor. He illustrated steady state behavior can be mimicked in the semi-batch reactor.
